Some History About my Nail Journey
Why I am not returning to the Nail Salon. I have pondered this thought off and on over the years. I have loved my acrylic, dip, silk wraps, spa pedicures and salon appointments. Every One. However with all the changes 2020 have brought on I am revisiting. Here are my reasons why I am not returning to the nail salon.
Number 1: I developed a new habit
Since we have had to social distance and self quarantine I taught myself a new habit. I decided to teach myself how to do my own nails. Enter Rossi . Now I know that it sounds easy for me to say but it truly is easy.
Number 2: Cost Effective
My second reason Why I am not returning to the nail salon is cost. I need to tell you that this is not a paid advertisement. Everything you see in the pictures I purchased myself. That being said, since purchasing the “starter kit” I have done my nails myself at least 8 times. Go to the website to see the cost . Let me tell you that it is competely more cost effective than the eight trips I would have made to the nail salon.
Number 3: Self Care
These days “self care” is a term I think that gets thrown around rather loosely. However, there is a lot to be said for being able to spend some time pampering myself in a specific way. I am a mother of 4 young children and having time to pamper myself has to be a planned event. Because I learned the “Baggie Method” which taught me the quickest dip removal process ever, I feel like this is really a self care opportunity, not just another chore.
Number 4: Variety
Because I believe there are only so many things we can change about ourselves often without seeming a little loony, I like variety in my nail options. Because of the hefty price tag of going to the nail salon I would keep my color or manicure for 6 to eight weeks. Now, I am able to change it as often as I feel. With this dip, I even was able to put a favorite nail polish of mine over it and not have to do my manicure over.
Number 5: Safety
Yes some may say that should be number 1. My reason why it isn’t is because I used to enjoy going to the nail salon. However, in this current climate, it is just not worth the hassle. I can be socially distant and self quarantined in my own home and still achieve a gorgeous manicure. I already have to wear a mask when I leave my house, I am not doing it while I am supposedly “pampering myself” too.
So there you have it, why I am not returning to the nail salon. Let me know in the comments what are some of the things you are doing differently these days. Until next time, live life awfully simple.
Love it!
